MODIFIED TEST PROTOCOL© DurAlt® Fuel Conditioner
Determine which vehicles in your fleet will be used to test DurAlt® Fuel Conditioner. It is recommended that no less than five vehicles be tested, and preferably ten that represent your fleet. You may want to select five vehicles that have from 20,000 to 30,000 miles on them, and five vehicles with mileage above 65,000 miles. Use one worksheet for each vehicle. Fill out worksheet below. Take baseline data without conditioner for at least three tanks of fuel for each vehicle under the same operating conditions, if possible, that the conditioner will be tested (i.e. if you are operating under a full load or with air conditioning without DurAlt®, try to use the same conditions when testing with DurAlt®). Mark down the conditions under the comments section. It is important to refill the tank to the same level on each refueling. After refilling each fuel tank to the filler neck, manually determine your fuel mileage using a calculator by dividing the number of miles driven on the previous tank by the number of gallons of fuel added. Complete the worksheet.
After vehicle baseline data is collected, refill each vehicle fuel tank to the filler neck. To begin the test, the fuel in the entire fuel tank must be treated with the conditioner to obtain the proper ratio in the fuel. After the entire tank is treated, subsequent fill-ups need only treat the amount of fuel that is added during the fill-up. On a full tank of fuel, treat the entire tank by adding conditioner from the 16 oz. bottle into the fuel tank in the ratio of one ounce of conditioner per 16 gallons of fuel the tank holds for GAS, or one ounce of conditioner per 23 gallons of fuel the tank holds for DIESEL. (Example for GAS: If your fuel tank holds 26 gallons, add approximately 1 and 5/8 ounces of conditioner the first time only. If your fuel tank holds 38 gallons of fuel, add approximately 2 and 3/8 ounces of conditioner the first time only.) This is only done the first time the conditioner is used in order to treat all of the fuel in the fuel tank. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using DurAlt® from the 1-Gallon bottle or 55-Gallon Drum, the ratio to add to the tank is 1 ounce per 39 gallons of fuel for GAS, or 1 ounce per 23.4 gallons of fuel for DIESEL. If your onsite bulk tank has been treated with conditioner and that is part of your test, use your bulk supply tank as much as possible. If you use an off-site commercial gas station to refill the fuel tank, only add DurAlt® for the number of gallons of fuel you add using the same ratios as shown above. Calculate the fuel mileage manually using a calculator by dividing the number of miles driven by the number of gallons added. Complete the worksheet on the back of this form, including comments on performance noted with the conditioner (i.e. more power, better response, less smoke, quieter engine etc.) based on your observations.
